Towercote Cub Yellow
 
How close is towercotes cub yellow to ultracote cub yellow.? Tower has towercote on special for 8.99 a roll and i would to patch up a plane of mine.... i dont mind spending on ultracote, but if i can save a few dollars, why not :D

Here's the deal, Cub Yellow is Cub yellow, there shouldn't be any difference. Here's the problem, color can differ from batch to batch a bit even when it's the same manufacture and even more from different manufactures. I haven't had much problems using different brands of covering with the Cub yellow. I have had a mountain of problems trying to match Cub yellow paint!! You would think it too would be all the same but I have gotten it that ranged from Bright orange to bright yellow. The paint is the crap shoot.

I can assure you it's different....

It's not terribly off, but it is far enough off in shade to really annoy you over time.

OP, do you think it's the color itself or just the covering being thinner?? More transparent?? When it's rolled up on the roll it looks pretty good to me. I only use the cheaper coverings on electrics so I don't care much or give it much thought.
