AT10 11 compatability

Hi all.
Im relatively new to rc. I recently picked up a rtf trainer micro aircraft and really like flying it.
In my haste to progress in the hobby i bought a Radiolink AT10 11. The transmitter is DSSS & FHSS dual spread spectrum. Is this compatable with DSMX/DSM2 as i would like to progress to a bigger trainer?
Thanks.

No, it is not. DSM2 and DSMX are Spektrum protocols. There are a few radios where you can plug in Spektrum modules, but I don't think that's possible with any Radiolink stuff.

ok thanks for clearing that up, will look into getting a Spektrum tx

So who does use the DSSS & FHSS protocols? Aside from Radiolink that is. Isn't Futaba one?

Every manufacturer has their own protocol. I highly doubt one is better than the other, despite what all of them say. Pretty much everybody does frequency hopping, but the way they encode their signals are all different.

You mean like these?
  • ACCST (Frsky)
  • ACCESS (Frsky)
  • DSM (Spektrum)
  • DSM2 (Spektrum)
  • DSMX (Spektrum)
  • AFHDS (Flysky)
  • AFHDS 2A (Flysky)
  • A-FHSS (Hitec)
  • FASST (Futaba)
  • Hi-Sky (Deviation / Devo)
  • DSSS (JR)
  • FHSS, S-FHSS, FAST, FASSTest (Futaba)
