RE: Cheap field gear, anyone?!?!?
Yeah thanks for the idea Joe,
I think Ã*'ll try that one! Ashburton is pretty small and nice (pop-15,000) so I have to travel for about 45 mins to get to a club. Thanks again for the idea! |
RE: Cheap field gear, anyone?!?!?
Starter: You can do an electric starter using a small DC motor and a cup-shaped rubber doorstop. If you want a wireless thing like the hobbico, just trow a 12v 1.2ah lead-acid battery in there.
Battery: You can get a 12v 7ah battery pretty cheap now. If you look around you can even get one for free! Chicken Stick: If you do the electric starter you really dont need this, but if you don't you can make a chicken stick very easily. Glow Starter: You dont really need this. You can use a small car battery to get 1.2v. Then you connect it to the glow plug. I know that to take a heavy car battery for the field it is not practical, but... Field Box: Construct this yourself using some cheap wood. (MDF, plywood, particle board) Fuel Pump: Anyone knows how to construct a fuel pump??? But you don't need this too, you can use a squezze bottle! I also live in a small village (population: 5000) and the nearest club is about 1 hour drive! [&o][&o] Like you see, you can get a field gear pretty cheap. Then, when you have money you can buy a better field gear, bus this is good for a beginner. [>:][>:][>:] |
