aceracer,

Do you already know how to fly? If no don't be suprised if you first flights are measured in seconds and require repairs and parts.

R/C Planes aren't like R/C cars or boats... They aren't as forgiving. You might want to visit a local club and get assistance if possible

RE: rtf plane

For getting started, electrics allow you to fly in
parks and perhaps even your yard. They are quiet and clean.

I leave one of mine in my car at the train station. When I get home, I head for the field, in my suit, pull out the plane, put in the battery, do a range check, fire up the motor and up
I go.

10-15 minutes later I land, switch batteries and up again! Depending on the
light, I might be there an hour and get in 3-4 flights, still in a suit. Then
put it away and home for dinner.

Below I list RTF electric planes for beginners. If you are totally new to RC Flying, these articles may be helpful in understanding how these planes fly

READY TO FLY STARTER PLANES
No building - they practically fly right out of the box

I started on an Aerobird RTF. I love it and recommend it highly I have
almost 250 flights on mine. It is a ready to fly package which includes the
radio, charger, batteries, and all. $150

In addition to being fun planes, the Aerobird and the SlowV can use the X-port acceories for air to air combat, night flying and bomb drops. Tons of fun once you learn how to fly.
