Would a WingsPro Solaris Acro fit the bill here? I'm in the "second plane" market too and was looking at this one.

I have the World Models Skyraider Mach 2 and it's a good flying plane with a TT46-pro engine.
It's a bit on the light side in windy conditions, it's low speed flight is like a trainer and still have some *omphh* to go fast and do more aerobatics than I can handle. + It's dirt cheap ($69)
This was my first plane. (I skipped the trainer because I flew RC 5 years ago)

Now I plan to build a 4*60, it seem to be quite similar to the Skyraider in design and I've heard so much good things about it I just have to have one!

I'd like to suggest this to you, eventhough I've never flown one:
SIG 4*60 with a .90 fourstroke as your second plane, I hardly think you can go wrong with it!

My first plane was an Avistar, but it got boring after a while. For my second plane, I got a Pheonix Giles G-202. First I had a Tower 46 but it didn't do any vertical. Our club was raffeling off a K&B .65 and some military drone planes. I got the engine. The K&B has tons of power and will pull the Giles in any direction. :D I had to set up some flaperons on my radio to slow it down for landings. It flies great and is very stable. Make sure you get a high torque servo or a 6V reciever to make it knife edge.

I think that all of the planes mentioned are great planes. I have not personally flown the Giles but have seen it fly, and yes you do need to have a good engine to make it perform well. This is about true for all planes. If you have a crappy engine, then it doesn't make the plane.

Now, I have flown the UCD and I have to say you won't have to upgrade to anything after this!!. Just like the Somethin' Extra, on low rates, and small throw, the UCD is a very docile and elegant (for use of a better word!) plane....and then like I said, when you upp the throw, and get on some high rates, it is a very docile and incredible plane. I would say go with the 60 size, but if you can't, then the 46 also flies very well. It's just like the Funtana I'm going to get, I would love to have the 60-90 size, but it's just the engine that I can't afford right now. That same thing holds true for the 46 and 60 UCD. The larger plane, even though it doesn't cost that much, will cost you to have a larger engine to power it yet also have some fun...
