Does servo spindle position matter?
 

In a GP Stick 60 ARF, three servos are installed in the tray side-by-side, with all three spindles positioned forward and all the servo labels aft. Will the center servo (elevator) lose power or performance if I reverse its orientation so that the spindle is positioned aft and the the label forward? (There would be no change to orientation of the throttle or rudder/nosewheel servos.) Would the performance results differ if I were reversing orientation of an aileron servo with just a short control rod? When and why does spindle position matter? Thanks.

I wouldnt think so myself , on my Ultra stick i have the center servo the completely opposite way . As long and the part moves i would say your good to go

It won't matter at all as long as your control rods are ran long enough to get to the new postion, or shorter if you move the other way. When I lay out my servos in a fuselage I usually stagger the postion of the servo arms to help avoid any conflict between servos.

You'll love the way this plane flies. My brother has one with a Saito 100 and mine has a Magnum 91 FS. What are you going to put on yours?

And actually with shorting up of the control rod you generally get a better set up. Shorter pushrods and connections usually mean stiffer and tighter control linkages. Not so much slop.

Thanks all for taking the time to reply. Will be using an old Enya 61 2-stroke for now, will replace with Saito 91 soon.
