"Due to [school] budget cuts, the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off."

I like that. Sure you don't go to school here?

School system here was conceived at "The Laugh Factory" and the local Braille academy. This is evidenced by the Blind leading the Blind and the resultant education is a joke. Our tunnel has caved in here.

I begin driving with parents when i get my permit monday. I honestly would much rather have a boat or plane than a car. I really enjoy flying. I got about 3 things of CA glue and 6 and 30 minute epoxy i think. Some pins. Exacto knife. 2 new props for my plane. a apc and MAS. And i also got some new nose gear which i am trying to finish installing before bithday festivities begin

I was looking at the tracking. All it says is billing information recieved.. What does this mean?

rjm1982 04-24-2005 02:14 AM

RE: Ordered the Fourstar

That means they've sent the info to ups/fedex, whichever you used....they send it in advance, so they will know the weight, size, etc....so they can plan it out more efficiently and know exactly where it is going to go when it gets to their local hub

My wife lets me keep a plane in the living room and work on them in the kitchen.:D

Pilot Chad your going to just love your Four Star 40! I finally got mine all ready to go. I did some light taxing around my driveway today. It has been a mix of rain and snow here in Ohio [:@] Hopefully the wx will improve in the next few days so I get her up for the maiden. Also, I can't believe how well my TT 46 Pro runs. Smooth as silk!

Enjoy your build!

Matt

Should fly nice now it has a 36"WS and power is an.061 Norvel,,it has to fly by next saturday to qualify for the contest...plus I drive a Miata so I fly the little planes they're more fun than .40 size planes but you'd have to try it to see what I mean, my littlest stick is 23"WS and flys on a Cox .020,,its like a rocket,,it flys for 90 seconds but it will go out of sight way before 90 seconds is up,,its about $5 worth of balsa:D...Rog

This plane is gonna be my baby, She is going to look awsome and i will not fly her for a while... I think I am going to stick with the G-51, they have it at the LHS for 90, and i have plenty of money for it after my bday, I think the other money will be to add to my radio, or some supplies i need.

I cleaned up the work area today and have all my pins and such ready to go. Tommrow i will make sure its level and then i will be ready tuesday
I aso got a new flight box. It is one of my old tackleboxes from fishing and works GREAT

Can't take girlfriend to the movies in a plane. Think about it. With a car, you could also get to other flying clubs(not saying anything bad about what you are doing now).
I noticed new name, it was due.

Those little plastic boxes look just like the ones that Micro-fasteners sells for their hardware. Don't let fuel/oil drip on the cars if you hang planes in the garage. Couldn't be good for the paint or relations with parents.

true on the first post bruce. I am home sick today[:@]. As for cars, Our garage is filled with so much junk it would take days to clean it out enough for cars...

RE: Ordered the Fourstar

Sick isn't much fun. Rather be at work/school. Work pays for the toys too.

RE: Ordered the Fourstar

I dunno, I would rather be home, It is spring and school gets BORING.

bruce88123 04-25-2005 10:49 AM

RE: Ordered the Fourstar

If it is boring, I assume you are getting straight A's. I thought not. Boredom should come as a result of having nothing to do. You have an education to obtain. You may not enjoy all of your classes but they all have their purposes. Can't you select some classes you may enjoy more? I don't mean all of them either. Or maybe an after school activity or club? How about forming an RC club at the school, for cars and/or planes? Are any teachers there interested in the hobby that would serve as the required supervisory staff? Check with your school councilors about this. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. How about using your plane for a physics class show-and-tell or science project. find a way to make school more interesting for you and your classmates. Just be safe, one accident could doom the project

Pilot Chad 04-25-2005 01:08 PM

RE: Ordered the Fourstar

Bruce, It is my fault it's boring.. No straight a's for me. But then again most of the time while the teachers are teaching, I am thinking about gadgets i can make with my plane:D. Some of them have worked quite well too. The reason i don't make straight a's is plain and simple lazyness, I am just too lazy to do my homework... but i have figured out it is impossible to make below a 60 long as you do good on tests

Chad,
While you may be able to get by with that attitude in school now, it's not going to do very well for you when you get to collage or enter the workplace. Now is the time create and learn good work habits. You are no different than just about everybody else on RCU in that we would all much rather spend time thinking and playing with our planes, but where the difference is that most of us know that school/work has to get done first. After that, then we get to play.

I spend a lot of time here on RCU during the day, but it's not something that I just started doing. I've spent the last 10 years building my company to the point that I can stay home some days instead of the being at the office. But you should have seen me during the first couple of years where I was in the office until 2-3 AM every night working, and then back in at 9 am when the doors open for business. But now I don't have to do that anymore, and in a few more years I reap my ultimate reward. Which is partial retirement when I'm 50, and then I'll have plenty of time to spend playing with my airplanes.

Yes I know that I sound like a parent. Well, I've got some practice at it. I have a 13 year old son of my own, so these are well practiced speeches!!!:D:D
