Which size did you get? 40, 60???

And in the beggining, things go FAST...even if you take it slow...i was worries i was going to fast because i had the wings build and joined in 2 nights....but it really is that easy...

the tought part is in the details in the end...trust me...

Im still not done...but i work on it 2 nights a week...covering is fun...your sceme should be easy...remember, dont worry about a perfectly straight line on the trailing edge of the wing, but getting that straight edge between top and bottom colors on the leading edge is a trick....

Either way, have fun....i wont lie, last night i was carrying the fuse with wing attached to my room, the wing caught a door and i heard a crunch....i cried...i did...30+ hours trashed...so i though...turns out the cruch was just one of the supports for the foredeck sheeting....so no harm done...

I tell you what though...the more i build it, the slower i go, because i dont really want it to end....even though i can start another plane...i already have a relationship (wrong word really) with the plane....its funny...i know im not the only one who gets like this, ive seen it....so i know im not crazy...well, relativley that is...

Good graphics. When you do get the new radio, change crystals in the trainer RX(if needed) and fly it with the new transmitter. Start getting used to the feel of the new transmitter so it will have a natural feel when you fly the 4*. One less new thing to learn. You COULD also start playing with the D/R and EXPO eventually. But again, basics first.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I can't wait to biuld. It is gonna be so awsome.RJM, i know i will have a relationship with this plane. I just don't want to crash this. It will happen i know, but this is my beauty plane. It's the 40 size.

I also plane to mess with the new radio. Probably high rates in the air for that trainer

I had some trouble when i started. I am 13. I think that the first month, I think i missed about 4 homework assingments, and got a C on the social studies test! But then i realized 'WHAT AM I DOING!"
I straghtened out, and now i can only do my planes AFTER HOMEWORK. It is my own little rule.

Got my report card, and i still have those straght A's! Its hard when you have an addictiong hobby like this!

just my own 2cents

zachj1212 - Glad to see you can establish priority, even tho it is sad that you picked the wrong one. Just kidding. Your parents are proud of you I'm sure and will support your efforts as long as you do keep doing your best at school.

Last night, I put off homework until 11:00 PM so I could fix my airplanes and then I got a "F" on the vocab test today and a "C" on the history test...maybe I should've studied for more than 20 minutes!

IBrakeForNobody - You just might be right. If any of you are thinking about flying for a living(airlines or military) they are all requiring some college now. That means better grades. Plan ahead.

Give them a good "thank you". Work harder on your grades. Yeah, I know it isn't fun. As you get older you will run into that a lot. That's why we fly.

Bruce,
That's why I started my own business. Well, that and the fact that I didn't feel like writing a resume!!!

When was the last time you only worked 40 hrs/wk or can you even remember that far back?

Vacations don't count. Assuming you got one.

Bruce,
I wish I only worked that many hours!!!!! Vacation? What is that??

Actually, I'm starting to reap the rewards. We own/run a computer/networking company and we're in our 10th year of business now. I'm starting to actually manage more than work now, so my hours are getting a bit more normal. But I can remember the days of 70+ hours a week, and glad to see them behind me. Heck I even get to hand off the "on-call pager" to other people on weekends now, and I love that!!! I've got enough time that I'm starting another small business to help finance my hobby!!!!

That's what you need, more work. I've talked to other entrepreneurs and my hat is off to you guys. I actually used to be part owner of a small company in the skydiving industry but got out of that when I quit jumping. They're still operating but I'm glad to work my 40 and go home if I want to. Usually get a little OT, but it is my option. Leave some time for the toys.

Should have done it on-line, real quick. As for delay, just takes time. Has check cleared? Oh yeah, Late Happy Birthday. Gonna be driving soon? What is the driving age there? It was 16 in Detroit when I started in 1965. Yeah, I'm that old. [:'(] [:'(] [:@] Beats room temp.
