After the crash

On a seperate thread, I discussed how my Cub crashed on its second flight.
As stated I bought it used, in flying condition, therefor I didn't check out everything.
Now, as I'm rebuilding it, I've measured the distance from wingtip to rudder, and found that I have 3/8" difference over this lenght. Bearing in mind that the lenght is approx 30", will this make much difference to its flying performance.

THanks for any replies.......

If the wing tip to rudder measurement is off it's going to cause a "yaw" effect on the airplane. Especially if you have dihedral. 3/8 of an inch is most likely not going to cause a noticable problem, but keep in mind that's what going on when your wing is not "square". If you have dihedral then any yaw will lead to a roll. So be careful to adjust the right control surface when trimming out the aircraft.

Terrell Flyer is right. Go flying before your thumbs forget how. After you trim that sucker, you won't be able to tell the difference. I wish all my planes were only off 1/8"
