Tiger, stop and think about what we are talking about and also look at your plane.

It is for the steering arm end and the engine, at least in this installation, should be well out ot the way. Look at pic 3 in post 194 above. The wire loop does not need to be large (small radius bend OK) or on any particualr axis.

Full "throw", not full "thrust".

My LT-40 is finally complete. Well, as soon as I finish the wing graphics it will be. Finally got the wing covered and the aileron torque rods glued in place, hinges glued in.

Adding the last of the graphics and the whole thing will be done tonight. FINALLY, an airplane completely finished for a change (actually two, cause my Mini Telemaster is finished also).

I will post the finished pics real soon ( as soon as I get my camera up and running again, and as soon as the weather permits me to take outdoor pics - to show the true beauty of my work :))

I have modified the graphics a bit from what I originally designed but I think it looks real good.

With this project finally complete I have pulled my Eaglet 50 from the cellar and am now in the works of covering that with the extra rolls of Monokote I have (White, Maroon & Green. I will post pics of that when complete).

Just wanted you guys to know that I have not given up on this build, just been completing it behind the scenes so-to-speak. Pics coming real soon - til next time.

I need the proper rubber-bands for wing mounting. What size is appropriate, and where can I get'em? My LHS don't have'em and Tower Hobbies don't carry wing-mounting bands (or other sites I know of). I am using colored bands now that you get from Wal-Mart hobby section and I KNOW they would not work for flying, for 1 thing not thick enough and another thing not fuel-proof.

EDIT: As you probably notice in the photos, I have to remember to pull the aileron wire INSIDE the fuselage when flying :eek:

Final question: Does anyone know of a protectant of some kind that can protect graphics from peeling off at the edges when they start to get fuel-soaked? I am worried that they may start peeling off in time? I used Coverite fabric for the covering. I need something that won't hurt the covering such as staining or wrinkles, I do not want the protectant to be seen.

Now to just get the field equipment I need to enjoy this thing of beauty. Hopefully before Summer.

Thank you all for following this thread - hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed doing it.

Now, what to build for my next project, any suggestions???

You can get a bag of #64 rubber bands at an office supply store or even Wal-mart. Usually cheaper than getting them at Tower or your LHS, and they are the same rubberband.

Well, the maiden TAXIING will be as soon as I get the field equipment (i.e: fuel, sparkplug igniter and . . . what else do I need?)

Air Scout will be coming back soon, after I finish the Falcon III I brought out from the cellar. Anyone want an almost complete Senior Telemaster, I do not think I will ever complete it, TOO BIG. Maybe someone can tell me how to donate it!!!

Ooooo.... imagine the shipping cost on a telemaster! ouch! [:'(]:)

Field equipment.... glo ignitor-(no spark), starter(at least at first-trust me), chicken stick(if you absolutely have to do it the hard way), fuel pump of some sort - mechanical or electric, tools for adjustments(screwdrivers, wrench, pliers, allen wrenches), some type of box to carry it all in.... and most importantly, pencil and paper. (names&phone numbers plus tips and advise)

You'll add more later on, but this little bit should be sufficient for the first few outings(don't think I missed anything...?).

also in larger quantities but office supply stores are cheaper if handy.

R.T.W. - Fuel was the first thing on his list in post #209. Should be 10-15% Nitro.

If you have joined a club you may find a member there that would buy the Telemaster or donate it for a raffle.
