Radio Problems??
Hello again,
I have just installed my servos and receiver in my SIG 4* 40. When I switched on the transmitter and then my switch to the reciever everything was fine. But then I reversed the sequence and my goodness the servos went crazy. Jumping around with short jerking movements almost appearing to break the control puch rods. I am a beginner at this and I have went back through my radio manual but nothing that I could see for trouble shooting this situation. Can anybody share their thoughts regarding this. Thanks, Lamar |
RE: Radio Problems??
There is nothing wrong with your system. Always turn your transmitter on first. When the receiver is turned on without a signal on its specific frequency, it will respond to atmospheric interference, stray signals, radio noise, and even your body moving close to it.

RE: Radio Problems??
Thanks for the advise...This is actually plane number 2 (1st one is the trainer). The trainer's radios doesn't seem to go as crazy as the 4* does. I was afraid that I might have a defective unit or something and was hoping for a little insight.
Thanks again. Have a good one Lamar |
RE: Radio Problems??
One other little ditty here is whenever you turn on your transmitter, Extend the antenna a little ways out. Don't have to be all the way but just a bit. This is only if your not flying and just checking things out or something or maybe at home

RE: Radio Problems??
The radios I have don't normally care whether I turn on the transmitter or receiver first. If I turn on the receiver first they just sit there quietly waiting for the transmitter. However, a couple of my receivers go absolutely crazy if I turn them on while the charger is plugged into the wiring harness.
