Help! Goop Attack!
 

Help guys! I gooped in some lead into a pink foam plane that was finished and covered. It is attacking the foam. I thought it was foam safe as I have read everyplace about gooping in servos. Can I stop it? Will It stop by itself?

I do not want to hack out chuncks of a new plane.

PLease give me good news fast!

my experience is once it seats up ,it will stop eating the foam.

MAn I hope so.

You mean the glue Goop? Almost all glues fully cure in around a few hours. If it ate through the styrofoam, then carve a piece from the same material (there are different types of styrofoam) and then use either tack glue to glue it on or a low temperature hot glue gun (both of these should be available by Woodland Scenics, in the model railroad section of your hobby shop).

Alas, the hard plastic of a servo case is not the same as foam. Alternative cements include woodworker's glues such as Elmers and Titebond, CyA if labelled as foam safe (not just "odorless"), ProBond, silicone adhesives and epoxy.
