hes just wondering what an intro pilot is

RE: Beggener here
Listen guys, the information is right there in the link I provided. All you have to do is go there and read it. Not all that hard to do.
ps. It won't help to have all of your sub buddies try to gang up on me. |
RE: Beggener here
A Intro pilot is one that does not wish to purchase a membership in the AMA until they now they are going to stay with the hobby. It provides for the insurance, however you must pay some money ( I beleive it is five dollars) and you must be directly supervised by a person participating in the program.
Now that wasn't hard, it was right in the link that was posted above, on page 22, just as stated. Now lets try to keep this civil, shall we? |

Mr kzimmerman is confused with the "introductory membership" program Which is $19.95 for 3 months and can be extended for the balance of the year by paying the remainder of the $58.00 normal membership fee. An intro pilot is actually an adult AMA member who is also an instructor who is allowed to instruct non-AMA members under the AMA insurance umbrella. This instructor pays a $5 administrative fee to the AMA to do this. There are additional details in the link I attempted to get you to read. In answer to your earlier question cobalt zero: YES! Have a great day. |
RE: Beggener here
Well it took me all of about 3 seconds to go to the link that he put up, scroll to pg 22 as per his instructions, & there I found a 3 paragraph section explaining the Intro Pilot Program. Now I too know what an Intro Pilot is, thanks for the info bruce. :)

If done by the book (some paper work) being an intro pilot instructor can be a bit of a pain. The student has limited coverage for 30 days once the paper work is sent to AMA headquarters, but there is a hard to find AMA rule which allows an instructor to give anyone a one time flying experience, but only with the instructor's airplane.
