Hmm, you sure that you are in the hobby??!? The shop looks too neat, doesn't show many planes, and I don't see at least 3 piles of balsa!

My wife actually suggested that last week. We have always talked about adding on to the house at some point. But as we were talking she said we should just put up a building out back for my building area. That would solve most of both of our problems. I need a bigger building area and she wants a guest room. Since I use the extra (guest) room for my building me getting a building out back would take care of both of use!!! We'll see what happens.

Hey who does not like to show off their toys? After all that's what makes us men; right? So my shop's in a bit of dis-aray but that's due to... uhm..er..well I'm lazy. But I could not resist showing both of my shops and show off my name-sake.

Looks good Mr67, Love the pony! Dad bought one when they first came out, his was a 65 Mustang GT 2+2 the old fast-back. Allthough they actually came out in late 64 & some were actually registered as a 64 1/2.
It was dark blue with the 2 white stripes like your 67. At the time his latest Hobby craze was carving so he took out all the dash & door panels & replaced them with wood that he had carved the old Mustang logos on. I don't know if you are old enough to remember them or not but they were a small group of wild Mustangs on the run, they used them in the commercials back then too. It was a beautiful car & he turned it into a real runner as well!! The very same day he bought it he came home & put it in the garage & proceeded to take that brand new engine apart to put in all the good crank bearings & rods, replace the 289 heads with the 351 Cleveland heads & of course a big cam. I remember my Mom coming out to the garage that night & looking straight down thru the now empty barrels to my Dad on the creeper under the car & saying " The next time you buy a new car why don't you get one that isn't a kit!" She wasn't real happy about seeing right thru what used to be a brand new engine. LOL But Dad was a gear-head, what could she do?

I too have been banished to the garage for playing airplane. I used to do it right on the kitchen table but she kicked me out! I don't have a digital cam anymore but I have one half of the garage set up as my work area using the same table from Home Depot that acelemist22 has in his pic with shelves above that. It got crowded in a hurry, there are planes all over the place, including all over the virtually brand new Bass Boat. The poor thing probably doesn't have 50 hrs on it & now it has become a plane rack.[&:]

I seriously thought about posting pics of my shops, but pictures wouldn't do them justice.

Then I thought about posting a short video, but I didn't want to make any of you jealous. [8D]

I saw pics of Minns new shop areas when he moved into his new house. Even when the rooms were empty I was jealous. Just think how bad I'd have to sulk now. [&o]

He's got a big new (used) house and the entire basement (almost) is his shop(s).

That's the advantage to living up north. You get a basement.

On the other hand, we get to fly all year around.

When I lived in Detroit as a kid, I had a full basement that would have been a great shop and a fully usable attic too. Mucho available space, just wasn't into models yet.

If I remember correctly he had something like 4 seperate rooms with 2 complete building areas. Most of us would need a map to find our way around Mike's shop. Heck, I think it's bigger than my whole house!!! :D

I believe in keeping the work surface mobile.
For some of you, the big box on left in the first photo is REAL balsa. Not the kind that comes preshaped and covered.
Sorry, the insert said my photos had been uploaded successfully.

If that is not pre-shaped, do you mean the trees grew as sheet stock? WOW, didn't know they could do that. [sm=bananahead.gif]
