Beginner at overhauling engine

Hey,

Just overhauling my OS 46 AX and am having trouble removing the caburetor retaing screws (2). Any tips on how to remove them without rounding them? I also have the same on the exhaust retaining screw?

Cheers

What you need is a Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) screwdriver, as it has a slightly different shape than our common Phillips head.

There are a lot more places if you just Google "JIS screwdrivers"

These are also the correct screwdrivers for Futaba servos. How do you like that? :D [sm=bananahead.gif]

or here, good price I think for a set

What are you, a Newbee?[8D]

Actually, I just heard of them a few weeks ago myself. But that explains alot about the difficulty in removal of engine screws. Personally, I prefer hex heads and have replaced the screws on some engines with them. But you need to be aware of the strange metric sizes, as there are some that have the same pitch but different diameters that can fool you. Of course we also have 5-40's which are very close to the common 4-40 on some engines.

If you need good quality JIS screwdrivers come to my website www.ikaswebshop.com. We represent HOZAN TOOLS of Japan here in the US. All hozan drivers are made in Japan to JIS standards. If R/C products are your hobby than a good set of JIS drivers is a must in your tool box.

Hozan also offers parts cases for those small spare parts. They come in various sizes with various inner tray sizes as well.
