Servos and Recivers
Hi There, is it posssible to conect different companies servos to other recivers if you know what i mean.
E.g Two hitec servos for the ailorons (excuse the spelling) and futaba for the rudder, throttle and elevator linked to a futaba reciver. it may sound dumb but i just didnt know. Thank You |
RE: Servos and Recivers
YES
I have used: Futaba,Hitec,Airtronics,GWS and some old Tower servos with Futaba recievers with no problem at all, I had to slightly round the edges of the old Tower servos to get them to fit but they work just fine. |
RE: Servos and Recivers
Yes you can do this as long as the Hitec servos are for a Futaba receiver. If they are for a Hitec receiver they may not work.

RE: Servos and Recivers
Hitec servos don't differentiate, about the only servos that wont work with any reciever are the older airtronics that are wired differently.
Now to be used with a Futaba transmitter the hitec has to be Futaba (negative shift) compatible, but that doesnt apply to any of thier current offering of servos. |

You can even use the older Airtronics servos too, you just have to change two wires. Use the attached diagram to see the wiring for each type of radio. The servos don't care what brand of receiver you have, just as long as the wires are correct.
Hope this helps Ken |

Hope this helps Ken yea......there you go....what he said....... i know i'd have went to the poor house long ago if i'd have had to buy all futaba servos for my planes. i've just just used what i had on hand or what i could get my hands on at the time. |
RE: Servos and Recivers
I must be a name brand junkie because I always use Futaba servos with my planes and Futaba radio/receiver FYI did a search on TowerHobbies.com all the servos run between 8.99 and 14.99 ea. doesn't matter which brand you go with. the futaba ones were a 1to 3 $ difference is all between the high and low end for me its a personal preference not a $ one. of course some of the HD and retract servos can have a larger gap in price, but a typical beginner is using a standard servo any way. of course you can mix and match if you want to, but why if you don't have to.

RE: Servos and Recivers
true, very true, i find myself using it a lot less (mixing and matching servos/receivers) now that what i did when i first got into r/c
