$17 bucks gains one servo "3001 gains edge also " and 400 mah in pack capacity " flat pack also"
so I would have to say best deal.

Was just reading about the 750mA max discharge rate. So if each servo drains 250mA, and thats 5 servos, 1250mA, what would happen? (This is for the 6v 1650mAh battery) http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LM0370&P=3. Thoughts? Thanks.....Jack

250 ma per servo? where did you find that? The spec is for @ 7.2 ma per servo at idle which is the position servos spend a great deal of their time in. The higher currents are usually measured in a "stalled" or highly loaded condition which you try to avoid by proper setup geometry. The throttle is the one control that may spen a lot of time at an end point and therfore you need to make special care to make sure doesn't bind at the ends. The other controls should travel freely to/from their end points and usually spend very little time at the endpoints so they will not draw high currents for an extended period. Digital and High Torque servos do draw more current and require larger batteries. At a VERY rough guess, your entire system MIGHT draw 100-150 ma during a high spike of normal flying. 3D being a bit higher.

So will I be ok with the hydrimax battery, 3001 servos and the 8 channel futaba Rx? And thanks to everyone who posted, this really helps me out! :D

One thing to remember is that a larger battery takes longer to recharge than a standard battery. This isn't a bad thing, it just needs to be allowed for by putting it on the charger sooner so you will have the time. Also remember that NO battery type likes to be FAST charged ALL of the time. Slow charge whenever you have the time available. I don't know enough about NiMh batteries to go further here but carefully read the notes on Towers page you listed and that come with your battery when selecting your charger and charge rates.

Actually, I've come to find out that they both have indirect drive feedback pots.
There is a difference in the quality of the bearings allegedly and then there is also this comment from Krysta. the Futaba rep:

S3001 http://www.servocity.com/html/s3001_...l_bearing.html

S3004 http://www.servocity.com/html/s3004_...l_bearing.html
I have to apologize. My source data was flawed. According to Futaba's FAQ page, the S3004 servo has a direct drive feedback pot. This is definitely another notch in favor of the S3001 servo.
