s the prop
Is the prop driver ment to be able to pull off?
|
RE: s the prop
On some engines it will come off easily and on others it may take a removing tool.
What engine are we talking about? |

RE: s the prop
I just looked at what appears to be a picature of the engine with the parts spread out. It appears to have a tapered collet that the driver goes on. This usually results in a puller tool being needed to remove the driver.
Why do you want to remove the driver? It may not be real tight until the first time a prop is securely tightened down on it though. |
RE: s the prop
Its just i have been taking my engine and electrics out of my trainer today so its ready to go into my second model and i noticed the prop drive could come out but i wasnt sure if is ment to come off or if somthings wrong

RE: s the prop
It's probably OK. Is there a tapered collet or a key or a flat spot on the shaft that causes the drive to turn?
Be sure that you don't lose any parts. |
RE: s the prop
ok thnx it's all ok i guess be sides its not like im going to run it with out the prop on it LOL and that will hold it on anyway. It must come off for access to the front bearing.
Thanks for the help panic over lol |
RE: s the prop
Don't worry about it because those split tapered collets really lock down hard on the crankshaft. They only need to come off if you want to take the crankshaft out of the crankcase and that's only done if you bend it in a crash or need to change the bearings.
