On some engines it will come off easily and on others it may take a removing tool.

What engine are we talking about?

I just looked at what appears to be a picature of the engine with the parts spread out. It appears to have a tapered collet that the driver goes on. This usually results in a puller tool being needed to remove the driver.

Why do you want to remove the driver? It may not be real tight until the first time a prop is securely tightened down on it though.

It's probably OK. Is there a tapered collet or a key or a flat spot on the shaft that causes the drive to turn?

Be sure that you don't lose any parts.

Don't worry about it because those split tapered collets really lock down hard on the crankshaft. They only need to come off if you want to take the crankshaft out of the crankcase and that's only done if you bend it in a crash or need to change the bearings.
