Lawdawg,

I used a clothes iron to cover my very 1st plane a long time ago.

And a paper bag to bring it home in! :)

Good luck with your little trainer.

Nope, check out the European licence plates. More likely Italy.

Motorcycle says: Policia

Looking at the picture it sure does look like Italy. I lived there for 3 years when I was in the Army. Actually miss it some. Great place to be stationed!!

Airbrush would take too long!! I'm just gonna hook my garden hose up to a 5 gallon bucket of paint. :)

Hey Lawdawg; Let us know how the maiden goes! Be sure to take your camera.

RE: NEWBIE'S NEW ONE

I think a 9 inch roller would do a good job on the paint.:D

RE: NEWBIE'S NEW ONE

I have painted several airliners, mainly 747`s. Used a paintgun the size of a high pressure wand. Covered 2 to 3 ft wide spray pattern in one pass. Took 5 gals of paint just to fill the supply line Whew, looking at that pic, makes me glad I retired LOL.
Lawdawg if you can get a sim it will help you alot. good luck

I had an interview scheduled with them the week after my FedEx interview. FedEx said yes and I never made the other interview. Probably would have been caught in one of the layoffs if I had.

RE: NEWBIE'S NEW ONE

Lady Luck was shining down on you that day Bruce. I would`nt wish what we went through on anyone.
Lawdawg, here`s a clip of my first landing with my Tower trainer.LOL I taught myself to fly, but highly recommend an instructor. The second flight I stuck it again in a dead oak tree in the middle of nowhere. Knocked the tree down to get ot out, But! the plane fell out just before the tree fell.Bet you can`t guess what the tree landed on.
The weather turned bad, so I came home and started building planes like a mad man. TP Corsair 60, Sig LT40,Sterling Stinson Reliant.Goldberg Anniversary Cub, GP CUB.20 and GP Ultimate Bipe. I also had a RTF P-51, sorry I don`t recommend this plane for us newbies. Maybe with an instructor. The only one I dare fly with my skill level is the LT40
The Tower Hobbys trainer is a perfect plane to learn on and it can take alot of abuse from a Newbie.
Good luck on the maiden

Seems like I remember reading that there is 1200 pounds of paint on a 747?, that number sticks out maybe it was 1200 gallons to cover it?...Rog

RE: NEWBIE'S NEW ONE

I can not recall how much weight it added. It was serveral thousand pounds.
I had a A.A.mechanic tell me they did`nt paint their planes, because it saved fuel. But it still got to be a lot of work keeping polished. Corrosion sucs, speciacally under the lavs, phew, lol
