RE: Beginners first build
One other thing you could do is practice more. IF you have a spare hinge or 2 mock up a practice piece. Make duplicate slots to what you are using on the plane and install a test hinge.

RE: Beginners first build
Well I've got everything all hinged up. I must say it was a little nerve racking. Trying to get the hinges in place before the glue dries was just about to kill me. I practiced but it's like taking a check ride. You can practice until the cows come home but when the glues drying you got to get it right the first time. Anyway I got through it and it came out nice. For some reason I cant get the steering arm to tighten up. This is the second one but it seems to strip before it tightens up. Any suggestions? I'm putting the finishing touches on it and she'll be complete with the exception of the radio gear and I may leave the radio gear out if I decide to try and sell it.

RE: Beginners first build
Go to the LHS and get a new tiller arm. Buy a different brand if you need to. If you put a small flat on the strut for the set screw it won't have to be as tight either. Not loose but not strippable tight.

Thanks. I'll give that a try. I'll post some pictures of the completed bird.

Here she is just about complete with just a few small things to polish it up. I'm very happy with my first build and I'm looking forward to starting the Top Flite Bonanza.

RE: Beginners first build
Looks great Chopper. Needs a tail number though. Something like N14CM for Number 1 for Chopper Man :)
