OK I apologize again for starting this thread since it was thoroughly covered last month so I won't post to it again. Last night after a few beers I just felt the need to gush about how much I'm enjoying playing with glow engines again after 30 years hiatus since my youth. Love everything about it. (If my boss was smart they'd block RCU from my internet at work because I'm not getting as much work done. :D)

I would never dis anyone who prefers EP because after all, we're all just grown-up little boys (and a few girls) who love model airplanes. After a bad divorce and the stress of being a single parent, returning to this hobby and the relaxation from enjoying it has returned my sanity. :D:D

I have always had and have enjoyed glow. With my trusty O.S. engines, I rarley have a problem. Now electrics on the other hand, I have had lots of problems with. People say that electric is better and easier, but I had a heck of a time getting my electric warbird setup right. I also hate constantly dealing with bad connections and solder joints just to get my motor to turn. People also say that electric is cheaper? I don't think so. Li-Po, Motor, ESC = $200+ and then a month later, you burn up your esc, buy a new battery, and bend your motor shaft. :eek:

I like the way they fly though!;)

mbilar - I doubt you need to apologise, you did not DIS anyone, just that some people are pretty opinionated about their hobby and probably most the likes of BLE and me are kinda tired reading those statements. :)

LT-40 - only cheap electric are those that you buy at toy shops and they hardly can fly! Actually the best EP plane is the GWS Slow Stick, cheap to own and with a 2,000 mAH batt you fly for about 45 mins. But then all you can do it just fly around. Also, I do know a lot of guys at the airfield who are always constantly tuning their engines too ...
