RE: Crash Etiqutte for Dummies
ORIGINAL: rclement We had a guy at a fly-in once that crashed his bi plane and then later won a couple of mondo sized bottles of epoxy. Lots of laughs on that one. |

RE: Crash Etiqutte for Dummies
I usually tell newbies to "Don't fall in love with that airplane, it won't last forever." before they fly. As for anybody else, at our field if you don't get flamed, it is unusaul, but it is done in jest..... I think "that was interesting" would be OK. How about.. "You might not want to go to Vegas right now."[sm=tongue_smile.gif] |
RE: Crash Etiqutte for Dummies
How about,
"I've never seen that move before, what do you call it?" or " I was thinking of trying that, I won't bother now" or helpfully "Have you got a binbag with you?" :D |
RE: Crash Etiqutte for Dummies
I have never seen a plane do a stunt like that before :D.
I think the grass in on fire! That was so cool!!! did you see that! |
RE: Crash Etiqutte for Dummies
your gona have to get better at your landings.
that plane sure looked good in the pits. how long did it take you to build that plane? you want those wheels. |
RE: Crash Etiqutte for Dummies
Did you replace that tricky elevator servo I told you about when I sold you that plane?
|
RE: Crash Etiqutte for Dummies
How 'bout:
"If you REALLY had control of that plane, you would have crashed closer, so you wouldn't neet to walk so far!" No joke, a few months ago, we had a guy fly his airplane right into the bed of another guy's truck that was backed up to the pits! It had a cap on it and everything! I guess that guy was a "professional". :D |
RE: Crash Etiqutte for Dummies
Anyone can crash at a distance, only really good pilots can crash near by, it's easier to see the impact! :D:D:D

RE: Crash Etiqutte for Dummies
Well it flew....
interesting spot to land i like that last trick you did with the fire. iv got some epoxy in the truck. |
RE: Crash Etiqutte for Dummies

Ouch! thats gotta hurt! all the while, I would be the "captain crunch" of our field....Rog |
RE: Crash Etiqutte for Dummies
After they totally destroy it Say these 3 classic phrases:
1 ) It's not that bad 2 ) We can fix it 3 ) I have seen allot worse I mean even if its toothpicks say those things and all will be better. Whatever you do not ever laugh or smirk lmao. |
RE: Crash Etiqutte for Dummies
What I really hate is when I've had a bad day (crashed) and a guy comes along and starts taking my plane apart for me. He wants to fix it for me right there at the field even though it's not possible. Sure, I can fix it at home if he doesn't lose 1/2 my parts. Had one crash where a local kid ran out to the crash site while I put up my TX. By the time I started out toward the plane (no hurry was there?) here he came back with a handful of plane stuff. Now it had gone down in some tall thicket and there was no way of finding the crash site again so I never found the $100+ worth of servos and stuff he left out there. So did he really help me?
Etiquette: Don't help unless you are asked. You'll stay friends longer. Some help, isn't.[:@] |

RE: Crash Etiqutte for Dummies
I was talking to a guy who was at his field when another guy was flying a prop-driven, jet-like plane. I guess the guy was just z00ming around the air and went straight up until they couldn't see it anymore, then turned it around and headed straight down, full throttle. Turns out when it was time to pull out, the servos didn't overcome the direction and it went straight in at full throttle! One of the guys just calmly said, "I'll go get the shovel." Turns out they did need a shovel. He said the engine was about a foot into the ground! If that didn't stir up some excitement, you've got to wonder what a "normal" day is for them. :)
I've got to wonder if that's how Jed Clampett got his $$$ |
