RE: Under the hood
You will not be disappointed. There is a lot of good information on the website given in previous post on this forum to assist you. Don't hesitate to utilize the information it is free, unlike most things, lol. It really works better than any buddy box will and people get to flying successfully right away. Not 10 years later that seems to be the norm, on average.

RE: Under the hood
Actually this technique could very easily be adapted to buddy-box teaching. Looks very interesting. I am teaching a new pilot right now and will give this a try to smooth out his technique. I will let everybody know the outcome. I agree with Dr. B. S., don't knock it until you try it.

RE: Under the hood
ORIGINAL: DR.B.S. ORIGINAL: Trollmaster ORIGINAL: DR.B.S. What I find to be the least brightest of all is commenting on something without knowing for sure. Too many pilots have developed very bad habits which they got from instructors. I do not necessarily mean that are bad pilots per say, just bad habits. I call it as i see it. The point of looking down is in no way a detriment in any way. This instructor is in full control of the plane at all times. Also on a windy day at low altitudes it is not just an instructor that can have problems. I have seen very good flyer's dump their plane in the same manner doing aerobatics, low to the field. Understanding is a 3 edge sword, your side, my side and the truth. Without seeing this first hand speculation reigns supreme. Knowledge is in far second until you experience it. Happy landings, The Doc What is this? Double Dare? First off I wouldn't want to try it. It's stupid. Like hanging from the prop in the middle of the flightline. I have no desire to 3d, past, present or future. Does nothing but aggravate most everyone in the area. |
RE: Under the hood
Thank you very much and yes your right it could be adapted. If only everyone were as open minded as you this world would be a better place!!!

RE: Under the hood
Trollmaster,
I see you avoided the question with the stupid remark. Hmmm lets see. It must be easier to say something you know nothing about or are willing to try is as stupid as opposed to being intelligent enough to try it or even have an open mind to a thing. So as Forest Gump remarked " stupid is as stupid does" or just to put it in plain Engilish, you really can't fix stupid. Happy landings, The Doc |
RE: Under the hood
This whole thread is a "stupid remark." When I learned to fly these things, did I do this "under the hood?" No I didn't. Your trying to get me to swim across a lake just because somebody else did. I have no desire too and others should not be forced to or they may drown just to prove a stupid point. As if new pilots are not uncontrolable enough by flying all over the place. You all know my opinion of it all and you don't care about it anymore than i do about this whole thing so get over it and move on.

RE: Under the hood
Yes I agree with you trollmaster you should get over it and move on. So why are you making a point over again and using the same word, "stupid" didn't your parents teach you better that that?
This is exactlly why our new students don't fly like you describe. Because were better than you!!! Happy landings The Doc |
RE: Under the hood
Ok, I think this thread has run it's course and is starting to stray a little too far off topic, so I'm going to close it down now.
