3d model what should down thrust be

have a hanger 9 twist 60 arf @ question what should the down thrust on prop be, they seem to have left it out of the manual

With that thick, symmetrical wing it is probably zero. If any is required, it's probably built into the firewall. I did have to put a couple washers to add right thrust to my Twist 40 though.

On a ARF its already built in...if you're still unsure, call tech services, should be in the instructions somewhere

Zero downthrust and start with a little right side thrust. During the trimming process you will adjust the sidethrust to produce a stable prop hang. [Or slow vertical climb.]

RE: 3d model what should down thrust be

On 3D and pattern planes and some sport planes, the engine has no downthrust and no latteral thrust. Those angles are built in on scale models and trainers to offset wing incidence and P factor. You add side thrust, and you'll fight with it to do a knife edge or flat spin. You add downthrust, and it won't hover easilly, and you'll have to keep up elevator to fly inverted.
