RE: evolution 45/46
not much at all.
They are hitting insane RPMs on the 2nd engine because they are underloading it with that 10x4 prop, not enough prop for that size engine IMO. (I used that word "Insane" in 2 threads today :) ) It doesn't say if the 45 is a ball bearing engine, that would make a difference. |
RE: evolution 45/46
I have a .45 evo , it turns a APC 11x6 13000 +. Both the .45 & 46 are bb engines.

RE: evolution 45/46
it dosnt say that it is ball bearing but if you look at the exploded parts veiw you can see it and it's call "bb".
i just cant see a company makeing two differnt molds for .01 ci |
RE: evolution 45/46
also are there any kind of muffers that fit thesse engines

RE: evolution 45/46
Alpha 40 is referring to the "plane caategory" and NOT the engines actual size. Evolution has NEVER claimed to make a .40 engine.
Also note that these are Evolution engines. Do not confuse them with Evo engines which are a different brand completely. Also note the .45 and .46 have different strokes which means different crankshafts and most likely many other different components. |
RE: evolution 45/46
The Evolution TPS engine is a good engine. It comes with a 10.5x4 three blade prop, three blade spinner, and a flywheel drive washer. If purchased separate from the plane it will also have a standard drive washer. Most people switch to a two blade prop and spinner when they brake the included three blade model. I broke mine on my first landing on my own. A APC 10x7, two inch spinner and standard drive washer worked well for me. The 10 inch prop gave me a little more ground clearance over an 11 inch prop.
The Evolution .45 has an A on the head, the .40NT has 40 on the head and the .46 has 46 on the head. |
RE: evolution 45/46
i been running a 11x4 on it form day one and it got good power to pull it anywere i point it. but i just put this on my pluse and a bought some diff props to try out. so i will see what likes i had gallon and a 1/4 thought it so far
