RE: Aircraft Storage
I used a pair of 2x4s long enough to go from floor to ceiling with height adjusters on the floor end to make sure they would not slip. I drilled through them to allow 3/4" PVC to go through them in 30" lengths. I then set them up with the PVC through them and spaced them about 2 feet apart. The PVC is long enough to allow storage on both sides of the 2x4s and I can store 4 fuselages and 4 wings in very little space.

the way i store my plane is not with PVC but its still pretty cheap, i went and bought some shelving from Home Depot, i went with like 3 foot long brackets with 12 in shelve arms and then just put some Pipe Insulaton over them works pretty good.

I have used the shelf bracket method for quite a while now,I like it mainly because of the flexability of adjustment for wings and fuse sizes.
I have 2-4' areas one will hold 4 planes tightly or 3 comfortably including wings,I have one in the corner by the T.V. and one over my work table. |

Nose Down,
Always store your planes with the nose hanging down. This keeps oil in the engines bearings. This way you never have to use after run oil either. Here is how I store my fuselages and wings of some of my planes. 2x4's and 3/4" dowels with pipe insulation for the fuselages. 1x4's and 3/4" dowels with pipe insulation for the wings. Gibbs |

RE: Aircraft Storage
Im thinking about some kind of celing mount hangers, but what about in Las Vegas summer 110 in garage and 1 or 2 suv pulling in the garage from a 10 mile trip from work. the question is how long will the airplane last in the heat ?

RE: Aircraft Storage
Since I park 2 cars in my 2 car garage I have very limited space right now. What I do is use two hooks mounted in the ceilng. Then I cut up a old, narrow cargo strap and wrap it around the tail and lay the plane nose down hanging against the wall. I usually leave the wings installed as well. Saves space and actually looks pretty cool.

RE: Aircraft Storage
Post #5 shows my storage area. I still put both the car and van in the garage with the car under the first 3 airplanes. During the summer I leave the vehicles out until the engines cool off or sunset that way it doesnt get too hot in the 'hangar'.
