what to do with a destroyed A-10
1 Attachment(s)
I attempted to fly the A-10, with no success. I had it about 15 ft in the air and it was nearly uncontrollable it was way to slow. it lost lift and slammed into the ground breaking the fuselodge in half tearing the wing mounts and knocking off a motor...so I decided to take an old super cub fuselodge and some CA and have some fun. I'll say this, it flys just as good as the A-10

Yep! Some models just need a good coat of fire to make them right! ;)

RE: what to do with a destroyed A-10
anyone know how to change the motors in this gutless A-10

RE: what to do with a destroyed A-10
u should lite it on fire then fly it.

RE: what to do with a destroyed A-10
in the name of humanity I will dissect a motor and let you know how to get it out.

appreciate it. Mine is still in one piece thanks to the soft snow. When I hand launched it, it was just a gently glide downward for about 50 yards. Would not climb. So I would like to put bigger motors in it. But don't know how to get the old ones out.

ask and you shall receive... first remove the small screw that holds the impeller on. next use a set of pliers to grip the impeller at the base, as close to the motor as possible. pull the impeller off the shaft. that will expose the two screws that hold the motor on the mount. remove the screws and wallah the motor will push out. here are some picks of the process. you can do this with the motor housing on the plane

your bad, your bad. People that don't visit RCU miss alot. Thanks for the infor and pics. I think I can handle that. Going to put a set of part 370 brushless inrunners on if I can. Thanks lots.

good luck I hope your A-10 works out!!! let me know how it goes.:D

RE: what to do with a destroyed A-10
It doesn't look like I can put in the inrunner 370. The housing is to large to fit the opening where the fan is. What a bummer. Guess I will tow it and make it a drone. Good practice for quail hunting. Don't seem to get much help from Nitro hobbies. A $100.00 lesson. Hope no one else buys one. Take heed and save your $$$$$$

RE: what to do with a destroyed A-10
Get a smaller brushless, they are still more powerful than the brushed motor.

Irish:
I have a small ducted fan, sort of a flying wing arrangement, that I put a brushless motor in. This motor is one of the long thin ones, (can't remember the model type, but for some reason Eflight Park 400 comes to mind..) and it had power enough to pull this thing out of my hands when I first fired it up. I think the one I have is the 4200 kv version.. not sure, but it does generate RPM for that ducted fan setup. I have not yet flown it because I just can't figure out how to get that battery, ESC, and two servos in that compartment that this thing provides. When I do that, I will fly it. The instructions are poor at best. CGr. |
