Brushless....
 

I think that I am going to change over to brushless...I'm getting tried of gas..
I need some info on what brushless,batteries,charger and speed controller to get. Any advise will be great. New to the brushless but not to flying.

The first plane I want to try this with is a Modeltech Messerschmitt ME109. It's a .25 size. I would like to go the cheapest and safe way possible.

The battery you linked to is a 2100 mah 3-s lipo. For a .25, I would go to 3850 or 4200 mah unless you want short flights and really hot batteries when you land.

You can also take note of the Power 25 specs and buy a AXI or Rimfire outrunner that closely matches those specs. The Kv rating and amp rating are the specs you need to match.

The Mercades would look better next to my vette. Yes, Bacon, thick sliced and hickory smoked. Georgia pecans-with Michigan wild cherry syrup, warmed of course.

Nah.. I'll just use one of those recovery parachutes and just let it settle on down. Only need an acre or so for that... but if my aim is off, well, maybe two acres.. :D

You can trade off almost everything else... e.g. higher cost for lower weight, lower cost for a bit more weight, different voltages provided the AMP draw is about the same, etc.

A power meter becomes a MUST if you go this route. It's the only way to establish if that new prop you want to put on is going to damage the batteries, ESC or motor.

You can purchase some very cheap motors, which while NOT as efficient as the better motors, do quite well.

I just finished putting in one of these into an E-Flite Diamante .25 which I will be running using a 4S LiPo.

Thus far I'm quite please with the draw, balance and performance of the motor - BUT - it's almost 2 oz heavier than the E-Flite equivalent.
But I'll sacrifice a bit of weight...
