? about receiver switches
will a futaba rx switch work with Spektrum dx7 receivers? This is what i have as a spare >>> http://cgi.ebay.com/FUTABA-Receiver-...QQcmdZViewItem and am hoping it does.

It should work just fine, the only issue being that there might be a tab on the side of the plug that goes into the reciever. If the plug wont go in because of the tab, you can just trim it off with an exacto knife or sandpaper.

I could be wrong but I think you need the three wire switch. I have all JR or Spektrum switches in my planes with three wires.
Isn't the third wire used for binding? |

The third wire and plug is for charging without unplugging the battery and the link he posted is a three wire switch harness with a charge plug.

I'm talking about three wires per connection not three different leads. It looks like two wires per lead to me.

You only have to bind once unless something radical happens and you can do that directly on the receiver.

ORIGINAL: RCKen Missleman is correct, the only reason a 3-wire switch is needed is for binding the receiver. I thought that was what I said. I must bind to much then. Any time I change the settings in the DX-7 for a particular plane I re-bind the reciever in the plane. For instance if I reverse a servo on a channel or change the expo I re-bind the reciever. 3 wires are not needed on a switch harness. All the switch harness does is send the battery current to the Rx with a switch between them (And supplies a charging receptacle).
If you plug a battery directly into a receiver, it will work - even though the battery only has two leads. Same thing with the Switch Harness. I use Futaba Switches with JR all the time. You just have to shave the tab off the plug so it will fit in the JR receiver. |

I am sure I was doing it wrong. :eek: I will try again today and see what I can do because I don't want to take out that switch harness because it will leave a big hole in the side of the plane compared to the JR switch. Well off to see what happens. |
