retract help

I'm wanting to upgrade the retracts on my TF P51 60size ARF. I'm considering robarts, but have no direction in which to get headed in. I'm thinking mechanicals, but could probably be talked into air.

What are the advantages/disadvantages between the two?

Part numbers?

thanks,,

Or you can get these for about 100 bucks cheaper.

I designed these myself many years ago and gave the design to 3DX hobbies. I don't make any money from their sale, I just promote them because they are the best I have ever used.

hi mike,

they look really nice also, but when you add in a good retract servo there pretty close to the same price ($159 for the lados) and will have alot less to mess with for set-up and ease of use from what i have seen with my machanical retracts, they always seem to need adjusting after a flew flights off of a grass field.

unless your design is better and they dont need all the attention other brands do :D please tell me more about your retracts as they do look like a nice set-up ?

Mike, I bought a set of those for my Model Tech P47 and could not get them to work for me. The little brass barrel that slides back and forth stripped out on me twice. I probably didn't set them correctly though.

Do you have yours set up with a control rod?

there's a pretty long thread in the warbirds section http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_7520206/tm.htm that just about pummels this question to death you might want to give it a look through.
