Would be neat to earn my storm wings!
That would be one heck of an updraft to get your plane in a tornado. Just pull the throttle back and watch it go 200MPH.
It might even do some 4D stuff too!

How did you make out, Brett? Is everything ok out your way?

I work with a good bunch of guys that work out at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center. One of them was right in the middle of that big tornado that hit a few years ago.

Which big tornado? I have been really lucky here in Moore. There have been 3 tornados that have taken almost the exact same path, one being the big May 3rd 1999 tornado (F5-6), and one the May 9th 2004 (F4) that have been within 1 mile of my homes (I have had 2 since '99). We are pretty used to the big ones down here. I can't believe the Tornado in south Oklahoma took 8 lives. I hate hearing these things. Even though tornado's are pretty common for us Okie's, they are still scary.

Bonebreak,
The funny thing about all of those tornados you mentioned is that all of them started spooling up down here in Lawton and headed northeast and were monsters by the time they got up to The City. Yesterday's storm was very similar to those in that it did pretty much the same thing

The big tornado that went through OKC and Edmond went right over my freinds house and our church. It had come back up and did not touch back down till it was past it. It did come down in an area of the really wealthy peoples homes that border a golf course. It tore up some very expensive and beautiful homes. Seems like a stereotype, but the one that killed people in the southern part of the state, hit a trailer park. They always hit a trailer park.

My house and area are fine, I'm gonna scope out the damage down the street from work, I'll try to post some pics.
