RE: A visual perception problem at the runway.

I used to fly with a pilot that had one eye, how much depth perception do you think he had?
I have the same problem (got a screwdriver in left eye [:@] ).....and no way to tell if the plane is above the runway or behind.

Landing has always been a problem until a friend who is pylon racing told me stand in the middle of the runway, facing the plane.
No landing but making it fly over the runway, over my head(5 meters high) just to get the feeling of a straight approach, did it a couple of times, looking for the trees or what ever is on the background for visual reference
And now I am able to do touch'n'goes and land 1/2 throttle while being parallel to the track.

Hope it helps.

and something that helps me on landing is, I don't concentrate on the "whole" airplane while landing, just the wheels. I kind of just coax them down to the ground. It is easier for me to see the ground creeping up to meet the wheels when I'm just looking at the wheels. But that is just me. ;-)
