My rolling hanger

Just finished upgrading my trailer and wanted to share some photos.

As I have said on other posts, I don't have room for planes in my home or garage so they must all fit in the trailer, so what you see is what I have.

All supplies and tools [big tool box was not in place when photo was taken] are in box on the left side and my radio is in the blue plastic container just in front of the battery box.

Roo Man,
Only one problem with it. Too much empty space. You've got room for a lot more airplanes in there!!!! Time to start filling that wasted space!!! ;):D:D</p>

Ken,

I can barely keep up with 4, as you see the SSE [w/o engine] is still in rebuild, just finished rebuild on the UCD. Also the one thing there is not enough of is the green stuff.

I had to get in to this thread. When I started flying I knew I was going to need one. So last year when my cousin gave me a boat trailer I started building onto it. It is a constantly on going project that has been modified a few times since I started. I tried to keep the weight down as much as possible and seems to have worked out well. I have about $600.00 or $700.00 into it- including plates and a spare tire. I learned a few things in the process. It aint fancy but I can't complain because now I can take everthing I need with me and I have room in my house again. It is 12' long, 6' wide, and has a 5' ceiling. It is light enogh that I can pick one side off the ground with no problem. I pulls very easy.

I don't even own a car..or a truck, but I have somebody tow the trailer to the field and I am all set.-BW

I picked the blue because it was the same color as the tarp I had over it while I was building it. When I went to buy paint I grabbed a tarp and told them to match it. I see other people rebuilding pop up campers for trailers. It is a temporary solution. I am hoping to pick up an aluminum one about the same size. If the one I have is still in anykind of shape I will probably just give it to another modeler in need.-BW

To have all the needed stuff with me ever time I go to fly so I build it, my fuel, my tools and airplanes are in place also I do not have to think and care to recharge the main battery because it recharging while towing and connected to the towing car,m the only thing I would like to and is poertible wind sock to know the direction of the wind..it's in order..many time we flew in open desert not in proper fly field..it's ver remote area..so get everything and anything you need is necessary

Nice trailer. though you need some paint job and renewing it. your planes needs to be secured on stand with tension rubber belt like I did) otherwise during the transportation may moved and be broken

Yea, we're planning on repainting it soon. I wasn't gonna move it for a few days when those pics were taken so none of the planes were secured, but I do have some things screwed to the floor (you can see them on the bottom level in the middle picture) that I put the planes wheels in and then put a weight over one wheel, and so far (even with some sudden stops) I haven't had a plane move yet.

I just use rubber bands to secure my planes.-BW

That looks like an old horse trailer. Cool idea, but I would think it would be stained with horse fecal. That would not be fun to clean out or paint over. Probably wouldnt smell pleasent either. Did you have any problems with that?
