RE: instant epoxy?
are you sure you mixed equal amounts? i once mixed 30 minute epoxy with 5 minute hardener by accident, maybe u did the same?
|
RE: instant epoxy?
Sounds like too much or the wrong kind of hardener
|
RE: instant epoxy?
Any chance you mixed a small amount of epxoy that was already going off in with the new stuff.
IE used the same surface to mix on. That will set it off quickly. I use Post It notes to mix on - discarding the top one each time. |
RE: instant epoxy?
there is no chance to use the wrong hardener cause I only have 30 min :) and for the mix surface, I use disposable cups, maybe I used too much hardener then?

RE: instant epoxy?
I would have to say that you used too much hardner. This exact thing happened to me about 3 months ago. The epoxy got so hot I could not touch the cup. Trying to figure out what happened, I realized I had put more hardner in than I should have. I didnt read my marks on the cup right. It hasnt happened to me since.

RE: instant epoxy?
Well, I know when I mix up a large amount of epoxy, I have to work faster than the instructions say that curing will occur. I use my watch with count up timer and keep track of time elapsed when mixing. It's almost better to use the 2 hour to give enough working time.

RE: instant epoxy?
