ARGH!!!
Another windy weekend forecast!! [:@]I'm just going to have to take a week off of work so I can fly!!! Birthday is Sunday, riding the harley to parts unknown Although supposed to be a nice calm warm day on Sunday. But this ride with a group of folks has been scheduled for sometime now. I've been waiting almost 6 months to fly the PT 19!! MAN!! Getting to the point that I'm going to fly in the wind and hope for the best!

RE: ARGH!!!
Bill: I was planning on flying yesterday, after work.. weather was gorgeous. I got home and started loading up the car, decided I'd do one quick check on the batteries and found that the TX battery was almost "empty". Grrrrr indeed. I had charged it last week and thought it was ready to go. So, I put it on the "fast charger", but it rejected the battery. Blah!!! Looks like I gotta buy a new battery for the TX.
It has been sitting around for a while now, so I'm not surprised that it was drained, but surprised at the fact that it didn't hold the charge from last week. So, a really nice flying day was lost. Blah. CGr. |

1. An exclaimation of annoyance, exasperation, or other negative factor. 2. The sound a made by a stereotypical pirate. 3. what one says when one slaps one with a pregnant dolphin. a. ARGH! This is taking for-freaking EVER! b. Arrrggghhh, Matey! Aye be sendin' ye down to Davey Jones' Locker, aye be! c. ARGH! Why the $@!* did you slap me with a pregnant dolphin!?! see Blah, Bleh. |
RE: ARGH!!!
Wind has been bad around here too. I=On the other hand it has not rained. At least if it would rain it might do some good for my lawn and the runway while we can't fly:eek:
The wind here is tollerable for some sport 40/60 flying but I want to get my 50cc Aeroworks Extra 260 in the air for the first time since I got the engine back from DA... last December[:@] EDIT:// This also brings up the age old question... Does the wind SUCK or does it BLOW? [>:][>:][>:] |

Spring time can be a little frustrating if you are an RC pilot.

RE: ARGH!!!
You should try living in Maine if the wind is not blowing it's only because you haven't left the house yet.
Me and my flyin buddy went out wed afternoon we took out the three parkzones just to get some quick flights before the forcasted showers. Flight three was my PZ ME109 "maidenflight" about 2 minutes into the flight the gusting wind got so bad cross runway I didn't think I was gonna get my plane back nothing like the thrill of flying a 2.5 pound plane in a 25 mph wind ORIGINAL: billd76 Another windy weekend forecast!! ARGH for sure, then! http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...sn/biggrin.gif ========================== Tell ya what, guys...y'all go right on ahead complaining about wind. You could be in this part of the country, where the fine RC folks in Bowling Green are dealing with: at their flying field (Image by DadsToysBG) Or, heck...you could be here in Nashville, at Cornelia Fort Airpark... http://images56.fotki.com/v1598/phot...MG_2394-vi.jpg Personally, I'll take the wind. *heh*<br type="_moz" /> |
RE: ARGH!!!
Landings are at a slower groundspeed when into a high headwind. ;-) Take-offs are shorter, too. Life is good!
|
RE: ARGH!!!
Landing while flying backwards relative to the ground is always a special thrill[8D]

RE: ARGH!!!
That is why it is nice to live in Florida. We fly EVERY Week and usually have at least 300 days out of the year that are nice enough to fly.
|
RE: ARGH!!!
Yeah, I really don't mind the wind, just liike to madian planes in light to no wind, better for getting the plane trimed out. I don''t know, still scared I guess. Not enough stick time, and just not confident yet. Woke up last week with a spot in my vision too. I have fluid behind my right retina. jeez always something. Guess could wear a patch on my right eye and go around saying ARRGHH for real!! [8D][8D][8D]

RE: ARGH!!!
don't feel too bad, our forecast for today is 10-15mph with gusts to 25, 30% chance of rain, winds would be cross winds on our field, tomorrow calling for 5-10mph winds straight down the runway, but 70% chance of rain, maybe next weekend

RE: ARGH!!!
weather has been so bad here I will probably have to go back on the buddy box, when we can go flying again[:o][:o]
|
RE: ARGH!!!
Yeah, same here, Irish. We've had some nice days, but the wind has been brutal. Then, on the one day that we DID have nice weather with no wind, I had a battery problem... Argh!!! :D "I get no respect.." ha.. oops.

RE: ARGH!!!
ORIGINAL: CGRetired Geezz.. Gordon.. is that your place? I didn't realize you got hit THAT hard down there. The second, however, is the hangar right out at Cornelia Fort Airpark (M88) out by Opryland. We did, indeed, get hit "that hard" down here. Opryland hotel and Opry Mills mall are pretty much done. Opryland won't even be able to host guests until October, they say. Closer to home (like, not a mile away from my house) we watched large PODS type transport containers swept into bridges, couldn't use the 4-lane bypass for 6 days (it was under 10+ feet of water) and entire first floors of apartment complexes are just ruined. To put things in perspective, yesterday...the 17th of May...this month became the wettest month in Nashville weather history. Not, you understand, the wettest MAY (that happened on the 2nd *smirk*)...no..the wettest MONTH ever. Trust me...it's been fun. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...n/drowning.gif <br type="_moz" /> |
