Default What to expect

Purchased a Omega glider with a MPI Promax motor. Size 400, wgt. 3.5 oz winding 14/#24,cells 7-8,static power 122w,thrust 18oz, planetary gearbox 3.7 or 4.3 not sure which, prop 11/7folder.
Glider crashed due to another tx being on. Purchased a Trendy 480 sailplane and have installed the above in it. Total weight is now 2 pounds. This model has a poly wing which suits my older and slower fingers better. The batteries are 8 cell 600 AE nicads. Instructions say to fly the sailplane at a 25 degree angle from lift off. This dosen't seem like a very good angle to me. How will I get it high enough and still have battery left to fly with. Yes it has BEC and a fuse. Thanks for the help.[8D]
