I got a himax 2015-2800 today, I was wondering what battery and prop would give me the most power for 3d flying. I have it in a GWS 300 gearbox. I have b.c.and d gearing i can choose from. Also I would like to stay light on the batterys. what weight plane will this fly, will it hover a foamy factory 30" ultimate bipe. thanks for the help...crew

The more specific the question, the longer it can take to get an answer. Be patient, and someone who knows the answer will venture by and give you their input.

I am not sure, I fly a Himax 2015-4100 and am having great luck with
a 12x6 slowflyer prop and a e-tech 3s1p lipoly batt. 6.6:1 gear.
Have you asked Tim Hart?
HiMax is a great motor, you will enjoy it.

according to motocalc, about the best you'll get (within reason) is ~19 oz of thrust @~6A (or close to it, i don't remember exactly) on a B box with a 12x4.7. for 3d, the lower the weight, the better. i aim for 2:1 thrust to weight for good 3d performance, but you can have less and be happy. really, the only way to be sure is to try it and see.
