Default Castle Creations PHX-Link programmer

I purchased one of these, downloaded the software, and am ready to install. I also downloaded the instructions. Is there anything else I should know, tips, etc.? This may seem like a silly question, but can the ESC's be programmed outside the aircraft without being connected to any of the components in the aircraft?

Bought one at the NEAT meet. Red lights stayed on on the computer. Says to unplug and plug into the USB port till the green lights come on. Green lights wont come on no matter what. Down loaded the stuff of the website. Guess I'll program it with the trans.

I just received mine from E-Flightline and have used it to program 5 ESC's. The only problem I had was making sure that the ESC was plugged all the way into the female connector and that the USB cable kind of clicked into the connector before it was completely connected. As soon as I plugged it in it told me that the firmware was old and needed to be updated. I know some of the old firmware had some problems so I updated the firmware to the current version before I reprogrammed my ESC's but it worked fine for me

Sergio,
Are you placing your stick at full throttle before pluggin in the battery? If yes, then check your throttle trim to ensure it is neutral.

Was it easy to setup? I bought one of these but when my PHX-Link arrived, I blew the ESC same day. So I am waiting on new ESC to come in the mail.

I bought the Phx-link, but can't get the software to install. I have Windows ME and it can't open the MSI file. I have been to the microsoft website, but no luck. I tried to reinstall windows installer, but still no luck. I guess I will have to install this on my GF Windows XP computer. Should work then, but I wish there was another way to install the software so I could have it on my system. I have never had problems installing anything until I tried the Phx-link. Bernie and Patrick from Castle Creations offered their help, but it did no good. My computer is virus free, but something isn't correct and I am tired of trying to install it on my system.

I believe my ESC was defective (1 out of 1 million) as it caught fire and actually burned my plane some, but the guys at CC are sending me another Phx-25 at no charge (No the battery was not installed backwards ). This says a lot about this company and their customer service.

Got to love a company that backs up it's product. I checked my ESC after it caught fire without the motor and it was pulling 11.49 amps by itself and was still burning part of the board. Whatever the problem was, I'm sure it will be taken care of this time around.

Very easy to use, beats the heck out of using a transmitter...and probably the new "programming card" methods.

It's all good!

I use mine on the Mamba 25 ESC for 1/18 scale RC cars and trucks.

DTB, if you can't get it to work when you get the new speed control let me know. Always have the laptop and the cable with me. Takes all of 5 seconds to do, unless you have to update the speed control operating system, then it takes 15.

Jeez, and I thought I was the only one still having a problem getting the program to work. I downloaded it o.k. (I guess, I'm no computer genius ) but I get a message that says windows is unable to install it? I have Windows XP with all the upgrades, and I get the 2 red boxes at the bottom left corner, but that's it, I can't get any further...

I have read that the drivers are not installed? What does that mean and how the heck do you you do that?!
