Default What would be the appropriate brushless motor size?

What would be the correct brushless motor size for an airframe that would normally fly with a .25 size two stroke glow engine?
Many thanks for any replies,
GPB

Default RE: What would be the appropriate brushless motor size?

A .25-size plane usually weighs around 3lbs, so any 300 Watt power system spinning a 10-12" prop would power most any .25-size plane pretty adequately. Might be overkill on some, underkill on others, but generally it'd be a pretty good performance.

There are hundreds of ways to get 300 Watts. My favorite is a 10-cell NiMH or 3S LiPoly at 30 Amps. I'd probably go with an AXi 2820/10 and a 10x6 or 11x5 prop.

it also depends on the plane and what you are going to do....

just basic flying? IMAC pattern flying? all out 3D?
