Default E-FLITE 40-Amp Brushless ESC Version 2

It appears that the first version of the E-Flite 40 amp Brushless ESC was less than perfect and the new version (2) is due to ship out within a week. I bought the first version 2 months ago. It overheated and melted off the shrink wrap on the first flight. I sent it back and hadn't heard from Horizon Hobby for about 8 weeks. When I called, they said they were replacing my unit with version 2. It seems that the first version was faulty. If you had any problems like I did, take advantage of the upgrade.

Default RE: E-FLITE 40-Amp Brushless ESC Version 2

I just bought an e-flite brushless 40amp and it didn't work so Ive rang and posted it back to modelflight.com.au (im in australia) along with my new ultrafly motor so they can see what the fault is and it from what you said sounds like its the esc. Is a bummer cuase it was to be my first foray with a brushless hopefully I wont have to wait eight weeks!
