Default ESC & Battery Compatibility

I am flying a Flatout Flatana with a 370 brushless and a 10 amp ESC with a 2 cell lipo. Does pretty good but am thinking about going to a 3 cell for a little extra power. Can I go to a 3 cell with my current 10 amp brushless ESC? Thanks in advance.

That will depend more on the gearing and the prop than the battery. The 3-cell will draw more amps with the same gearing and prop combo over a 2-cell.

Let me know what motor, gearing, prop and I can run it on Motocalc.

Its a GWS 370 brushless, 66 tooth spar gear, pinion gear is 10 tooth, prop is a 10 X 3.8

Thanks a lot guy

I called home and that combination with a 3-cell lipo should pull about 9 amps. I would say you could get away with a 10 amp speed control but I would go one size bigger for a safety margin so it don't burn out.
