Phoenix 110HV What connectors for motor?
Do I use the standard gold connectors for the esc-motor connection? It seems like 3500watts is a ton of draw through these. Am I wrong? Another thing.....how long can the wire be from the esc to the motor? It looks like I will need a 5-6 inch extension. I am rigging a A-7 Corsair II with a NEU motor and a turbax48 EDF with the 110HV. Can anyone help? Kevin

Kevin,
Is that really 3500 watts or is it 350 watts? 350 watts through the gold connectors shouldn't be to bad. I'm assuming they came with your set up - right?

Actually if you use the nominal Lipo voltage of 3.7V/cell (the ESC has a max input of 50V) this unit can handle about 4800W.
I've thought about this question myself since I started getting into the larger electrics. I'm using a 45HV with the Emoli packs in my Century Swift and will be replacing it probably with an 85HV now that I am using LiPos. My Swift has a motor capable of 50A cont./70A burst and I've wondered whether the Deans battery connector and gold motor connectors are sufficient.

The deans plug is the largest battery connector I have seen. That is where my fear would be before worrying about the ESC to motor connectors because all that wattage is passing through the red battery wire, but between the ESC/motor this wattage is divided up among the three wires as brushless motors are essentially three phase. Best thing to do would be to just direct connect. If you have to be able to disconnect the biggest I have seen is the 4mm long style bullet connectors.
