Default those stator Rings on motors

I ordered a new motor speed 400 brushed, from tower, and I intend to mount it on my wild thing wing with 8 cells, it came with a stator ring wrapped around it, what does the ring do and should I remove it?[:-]

The ring increases the magnetic flux, thus lowering Kv (rpm/Volt) and increasing Kt (torque/Ampère).

[:-] Thanks, now I'm not fully aware of the Kv and torque ampere, however is it better to leave the stator ring on if the motor came with it, especiala flying wing the wild thing with 8 cells.anda grapner prop push on er white plastic type

well TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH I tried the removals on a speed 600 with a 8x4 electric prop and a 7 sell nicad 1700mah battery and it didn't make that of a difference as far as the sounding of the rpms and power, I don't have any special watt meters or amp meters to find out. so like you said try it with it on and try it with it off the motor and don't change anything else. Thanks
