Default is it possible for a receiver to have 1broken channel?

I have a random generic speed control from banana hobby and a e-flight speed control and brushless motor. I got the new motor and hooked it up correctly and when I did everything worked fine but the motor would not turn. I checked everything and it even beeped like usual.anyway I tryed to put the Esc into the rudder channel and the motor worked! Is it possible that somehow only one channel broke on my receiver? And where do I get another one? Help!

Yes! I recently had to return a Berg rx because one channel didn't work. I imagine it's something to do with soldering.
