Default spark plug help!!

if a plug is sparking is it possible that it DOESNT HAVE enough to ignite fuel? my baja drowned and now it wont start back up. cleaned n dried inside and out the ENTIRE engine and carb as well as air filter and gas tank. but using an electric drill straight to the flywheel, it just wont start at ALL. THE SPARK COLOR IS A LIGHT BROWNISH COLOR WITH BLUE ENDS. i am thinking that maybe it got ruined when it went from very hot to cool instantly when i hit the water. the engine and carb all seems in great condition

i dont mean electrode color i mean the actual spark coming from the spark plug it has whitish blue ends with the middle being a light tan or brownish color

yeah that what i was kind of thinking engines need three things to start basically

1. fuel
2. air
3. a spark

its getting plenty of air, its has good fuel, not so sure on spark tho. but it is sparking just not letting the engine start

Refer to my post in the other thread. The spark needs to be bright and bluish-white for an engine to run it's best. A bright orange spark is acceptable, a dull orange spark won't run worth a damn if it runs at all.

If you have a weak spark when testing in air, it's likely you won't have a spark at all with the plug installed. It takes more spark engergy to arc over under compression.

You may be having leakage from the wire, or coil. You can try spraying these parts with WD40 to displace any moisture, and then wipe off the excess.

It's also a possibility that the water incident is merely co-incidental. If the coil is too far from the flywheel, the spark will be weak. That would be unusual though. Typically if the bolts loosen, the coil moves towards the flywheel. I'm not sure if a rubbing coil on the flywheel would cause a weak spark or not. However, I'd suggest you remove the pull-start cover and have a look. Check the gap between the coil and the flywheel and try the WD40 thing.

the distance between the ignition coil and flywheel is the thickness of a business card, which i was told a really good judgement

You might try putting the coil in the oven for an hour....about 200 to 250 degF. If moisture is in there, it might steam out.

A Spark from a plug doesnt mean the plug is healthy, If your having probs starting your engine (or wont start at all) cheapest & easiest thing to replace 1st...is the spark plug, ive heard of a few people that say they had a spark from the plug thinking it was ok...they changed everything they could think of but still engine wouldnt start.. in the end they replaced the plug last & hey presto! ..fixed!

LITTLE BIT OF AN UPDATE.....bought a new plug and still no starting. if i pull the plug and turn the motor over with the electric drill i can ignite the fuel spitting out of the motor if any at all comes out. but it will not start if i put the plug in and turn it over. i also rechecked the gap in the flywheel and coil and it is the thickness of 2 pieces of paper (cant get much closer than that).??!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?

Maybe water shocked something due to quick contraction, or got in the cylinder instantly stopping the engine rotation, so you also might want to remove the flywheel and make sure the keyway key isn't sheared or partially sheared. Doesn't take much and the ignition timing will be out and it won't start.
