Default Help me decide which engine to order

After breaking the hollow crankpin on my STS .28 I need a new and better engine for my boat (yepp, I`m using car engine in my boat) After reading what I can find of reviews and feed-back I have it narrowed down to three big-blocks in the 200$ range: Picco P3 .28, LRP .28 Spec 3 or LRP .30 competition, all with standard backplate to get the most revs.

From what I can find out thae Picco is a torque monster and the LRP .28 will rev very high, the LRP .30 sure looks good on the inside and I wonder if this engine will be the best of two worlds, torque AND high revs???

I need raw power and the more top revs, the better.

I`m having a really hard time choosing one of these over the others

Any suggestions to which one of these will provide the most power is greatly appreciated:-)

You sure you dont want a good OPS boat motor? Those make a lot more power, and are specifically designed for boats. A car motor wont last very long.

Yes I`m sureI have an OPS .60, but it is way too big and heavy (and would propably tear the boat into pieces). A new OPS .45 and pipe is a bit expensive, and besides I like to explore this car-engine in a boat thing And it is actually very practical in use too

So, anyone have a clue to which one is the most powerfull amongst the three I mentioned?

Well... I doubt anyone has ever run any of those motors in a boat... but P3 is a pretty powerful motor.

my friend runs both LRP engines, from what i understand is that he gets more top end with the 28 than the 30, and between both of them the 30 has more torque... from the MT community, nearly everyone seems to prefer a picco 28, well a modded one but stock is still good.

My friend has the P3 and the LRP .28 and he always say the P3 will outrun the LRP...
