I'm not %100 sure, but there IS an SH pipe that works great with the LRP. Not sure if it's the High Torque or not.. I kind of think it might be.. I would say try it.
Back in the day, whenever this topic was discussed, and I also opened a thread or two about it, the JP-2 was often mentioned as the best match.. So I went and got one.. And.........., I must say, AWESOME... LRP Spec 3 .28 with a hard ano JP-2 in the Muggy was just freakin' fun...
I'd say try the SH pipe first - might be great. The ST-1 I saw once with an LRP Spec 3 and SH pipe was wicked, mental, fast.. As in wheelies at will, and a huge top speed. GREAT engine-pipe combo, whichever pipe that was.. If your pipe doesn't cut it though, I would say JP-2.

ok i will look into the jp-2. i have driven it with the sh pipe on it. and lets just saythat ithas a major traction problem. but it still wont do wheelies, not sure why, probly because i havereally stiff clutch springs. that would do thatright. but idk if want wheelies now. it would be even harder to control. what do you think savage?

I don't know TMAXX's. With MT's the softness of your shock springs, and especially the tightness of your slipper clutch affect the ability to do wheelies.
Tighter your slipper first and foremost(but then you have to be careful jumping.. Looser for jumping, tighter for wheelies..)
And thicker oil in the shocks..
Thicker clutch springs I would think would help wheelies, cuz the engine engages at a higher RPM.. I.e. more punch from a get-go...

RE: best pipe for LRP .28 spec 3
the shocks are stiff. not extreemely but there stiff. but not stiff enough for the power of that LRP cuz it just squats right down when i get on the gas. and my truck has a locked up center diffnot a tranny so i dont think that it has a slipper. but like i said the center diff is locked up so its not seperate spinning front and rear diffs, its one solid one. and i thought the weaker the clutch spring the faster they realese and the more power you got and then it just windes out quicker.

I had a JP-2 and a JP-3 with my LRP .28 Spec 3 and they where both good. I also had an rdlogics pipe that most people say is junk but I found it to work pretty well also but I think the JP-3 was the best all around pipe from the ones I used. There is also a losi pipe (I think it is called the HT pipe?) that is supposed to be really nice with the LRP .28

The Losi HT pipe was the stock Muggy and 8B and 8T - and LST2/XXL but with a different header - and yes, it works very well with the SH big blocks..
I raced buggy and truggy with a silver Mach 427* and HT pipe, and it was really very good. Good run time even.. The Losi HT pipe would defo be the cheapest option - 20 bucks probably off ebay..
Maybe an old Tsais T36 as another option...
* The silver Mach and LRP are very similar, the former a .26, the latter a .28 - both SH.. They run and tune VERY similarly - the LRP just has mor torque, and drinks a LOT more fuel...

You can probably find any of the above pipe on ebay used btw. For half the price.. New pipes are expensive, and as soon as you put one tank through them, their value goes down by half..
