My cord broke, when I took it apart the spring had disconnected itself requiring the spring to be rewound. HA!
Does anyone have a trick for doing this?

I use small tie wraps. Start by puting one around the spring and pull it tight. Then place another one around the tight part of the spring.
that will hold the spring up to the point where you wound it yp to. Now cut the first tie wrap removing it. Now continue to tighten it some more doing the same again. When its tight enough to place into the starter cup place it inside. While holding the spring carefully cut the last tie wrap and carefully slid it out. The spring should stay inside the housing. Now install the rope pulley aligning the spring into it.
!!!!!!!!WEAR EYE PROTECTION WHEN WINDING AND INSTALLING SPRING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IF NOT YOU'LL SHOOT YOU EYE OUT!

Well I tried that and still had trouble but it got me to thinking and looking at what I had when I noticed a 19mm nut formed in the
reel for the string so I loaded the spring on the reel and used a deep well socket to turn it ,WALA you can turn the spring as tight as you want then place a tie wrap in the hole and do what you want with it then.

Hi, I used to have a hyper7 that had a pullstart, They was always breaking or not springing back, there is no easy way to wind it back in but if i was you i would invest in a starterbox my life is so simple with a starterox my GS STORM sits on top of the box and all that i have to do is push it down and it spins the engine on it starts HAPPY DAYS!!
