Default Engine been sitting a while...

I'm about to buy a used truck. It has a NovaRossi CX12 in it but its been sitting for a while. After-run oil was used before he put it away. Its been sitting for about a year. Is there anything specific I should do once I get it started again? Can I just go ahead and run it hard or should I take it easy for the first few tanks to "break it in" again. I know you can only break an engine in once (or piston and sleeve anyway) but cos its been sitting awhile maybe some of the same rules apply to an extent? That or I'm just being paranoid as usual about my stuff

Thanks

I'd recommend you DO take the first tank going slow. Just take the the car for slow drives around your street or whateva, until you empty your first tank. Then on the 2nd tank, start to tune it to top performance (DONT go too lean, stay on the rich side), and then the engine should be right!

Remember to look after it and use fuels that have plenty of oils in them. (18% oil or more). I too have this engine and have only ever ran fuels that contained 20%oil with 15% nitro and this engine is still running great with still HIGH compression. (just like I bought it). And I'v always used After-run oil after every run.

I hope you treat this little beauty with the same respect

Cheers!

thanks hitman. Any suggestions on needle settings for this engine? Or are there any tricks I need to know about this thing?
